Whenever we want to write about anything, it is better to follow the right procedures. With the spirit to enhance my knowledge and put additional “power” in my writing, I had enrolled to attend a workshop namely “Writing for Online Media” organized by New Straits Times NIE.
The workshop was held at NST’s office in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur (20 & 21 June 2009).
The workshop covers:-
First day:
1. Newsroom needs – Laws and ethics, The news cycle.
2. Content writing – News values, Gathering information.
3. Online writing skills – Conveying the message, Element of writing.
Second day:
1. Effective writing
2. Writing the lead
3. Writing the story
4. Post-writing revisions
5. Publishing checklist
At the end of workshop, NST NIE awarded me this certificate.
