Taiping is one of the oldest towns in our country and the Taiping Lake Garden is the oldest public garden ever developed in Malaysia.
The garden is situated just between Taiping town center and Bintang Range in the East. It is well known as the first public garden in Malaysia.
The garden is operated and maintained by Taiping Municipal Council. You may get more information from website http://www.mptaiping.gov.my/
This 62 hectares garden previously was an abandoned tin mine. The garden was established as public garden in 1880. Picture below is one of the entrances to the garden.
The weather was not so suitable for photographing when I came to take photographs in that evening.
This road is actually circled around the garden.
You may see these old and beautiful angsana tree (rain tree - pterocarpus indicus) almost along the circular road in the garden.
