KFH Malaysia wins award for gold product

KUALA LUMPUR: Kuwait Finance House (Malaysia) Bhd (KFH Malaysia), the first foreign Islamic Bank in Malaysia, has won "Most Outstanding Islamic Consumer Product" award for its KFH Gold Account-i at the Kuala Lumpur Islamic Finance Forum (KLIFF) Awards 2011.

In a statement, KFH Malaysia chief executive officer Jamelah Jamaluddin said the bank was delighted to be acknowledged for its contribution to Islamic finance development in the country.

"Our innovative product, KFH Gold Account-i, allows customers to invest in gold in a convenient and secure way without having to keep the gold physically," she said.

The KLIFF awards honour and recognise significant efforts by individuals and institutions in the Islamic finance industry.

Representing the first syariah-compliant gold account in Malaysia, the product has been well-received by Muslim and non-Muslim customers alike, Jamelah claimed.

To date, there are more than 3,000 account holders, contributing to over 70kg of gold sold
